The website of Japan’s health ministry has reopened after being inaccessible for more than 15 hours.
The website went down at around 9:30 on Monday evening. It resumed service at 12:48 PM on Tuesday.
A person claiming to be a member of the international hacker group Anonymous posted a message on Twitter suggesting the group carried out a cyber-attack.
Health Minister Yasuhisa Shiozaki noted this is the second time since last November the ministry website has been hacked.
He called the act an unacceptable obstruction of administrative services, and said the ministry is consulting with the police.
